Signs You May Need to Seek Help for Your Wound
Increased Pain:
If your wound starts hurting more than usual, even after taking pain medication, it might be a sign of infection or other complications.
Swelling or Redness:
Watch for any new or worsening swelling, redness, or warmth around the wound area. These could indicate an infection or poor circulation.
Foul Odor:
A bad smell coming from the wound can be a sign of infection or tissue breakdown and should be checked by a healthcare provider.
Unusual Discharge:
If you notice increased drainage, pus, or a change in the color of the fluid coming from your wound, it may need medical attention.
Slow Healing or Worsening:
If your wound isn’t healing as expected, or if it seems to be getting worse, it’s important to get help quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Insurance do you accept?
RFH provides a specialist in insurance verification to your care team. We do a complete evaluation of insurance depending on the specific needs related to your wounds. We accept Medicare and select Medicare advantage programs depending on the state you reside in.
Hospice patients are not covered by our advanced wound care program.
Do you coordinate with my home health provider?
YES. The core of our program is ensuring all participants in your care are updated, communicated with, and understand the importance of adherence to our protocols for healing. We stay connected with your home health agency and any other provider that requires regular updates on your wound care.
We can also connect you to home health or other specialists if you currently do not have one and are in need of further support.
What makes your wound care program “advanced”?
RFH has some of the most talented and specifically wound care educated nurse practitioners who will treat you in your home. These practitioners are not general nursing care, they have advanced degrees and are specifically trained in this high level of care.
RFH deploys specialized technology to the bed side to evaluate and treat chronic wounds. These types of methods are not seen in general wound care practices. From bedside evaluations of your vascular status to digital measurement tools detecting infections, we have some of the most innovative approaches in the wound care market available today.
Our comprehensive care coordination program sets a higher standard of care for patients, their care providers, and our medical specialist partners to ensure we are maximizing the potential for healing – and addressing a patient’s true healthcare needs.
